Busy Times

It’s been a long time since I posted something here on mickeycpoker. I have had a rough period behind me, and I hope everything will be a little bit more stable now. I had exams, I searched (and found) a job, started blogging too for another poker website and have had a lot of work creating activities in our local youth house. But now, I picked up the poker again and will give a ‘best of’ update of the past month.

HSOP 2010: Limit Seven Card Stud

Last friday we played the sixth event in our annual Home Series of Poker. After the No Limit/Pot Limit Hold’em/Omaha with rebuys it was time for another limit game. And for me not just any limit game, THE limit game: Seven Card Stud! Of all the stud-games I enjoy Seven Card Stud the most. At first I wasn’t really good at the game but I played it sharpened my skills online and now Stud is not only my best game it’s also the one I like to play the most!

On betting

Today, I’ve got another strategy post for you poker-playing fellows out there. More specifically, as you can read in the title, I’ll be talking about betting. Many beginning players use a very exploitable check/call strategy when they are learning poker, and it isn’t until later that they start betting their hands. However, quite a few players are stuck after this transition. They understand and experience that betting is often better than check/calling, but they often don’t know why they are betting. I’m here to fix that.
