Busy Times

It’s been a long time since I posted something here on mickeycpoker. I have had a rough period behind me, and I hope everything will be a little bit more stable now. I had exams, I searched (and found) a job, started blogging too for another poker website and have had a lot of work creating activities in our local youth house. But now, I picked up the poker again and will give a ‘best of’ update of the past month.

There happened a lot in pokertopia. First of all: the World Series ended and the online cash games began again. But the new mood is cap: a limited amount for each pot played. This protects everybody against losing too much money. Michiel Maes says that they’re all wimps and I do agree that it decreases the fun of railing. But yeah, it’s their money.

Besides that: the same story continues. Ivey wins all the money, Gus Hanses loses every pot he plays and all the young pro’s have daily swings the size of a villa in Monaco. In a positive railing note: durrrr-challenge two has begun. Jungleman12 agreed to play and they have played their first session. After almost 6.000 hands, durrrr is down over half a million. They’re playing nlhe at $200/400 and 6tabling. I like durrrr’s chances and still believe he’ll take down the pretender.

There were some EPT’s and a WPT but nothing really special happened. Little came close to a 3rd WPT victory and Arnaud almost won his 3rd EPT, but they all failed in the end. Besides that: the World Series of Poker London is getting closer. All the Vegas bracelet bets still count there, so I expect a tough and competing field. Go durrrr! Go Cunningham! Go Schulman!

We played a lot less poker than we did last summer. Some little cash games here and there and I think two or three tournaments. I won the Poker Camp sit&go and did rather well in most of the cash games. The HSOP wasn’t a big success. I had a lot of chips but made a play against Michiel Maes for almost my whole stack. He called (really light) and won. I was disappointed, but two of the last three HSOP’s are mine: nl hold’em and pl omaha. Michiel Maes: I’m going to win them both!

Not much to talk about besides that. September and October are always action packed poker months, so I’m sure I’ll get some stuff for another update soon. Take care and good luck.

Thomas
